"The message of an Asian to the football confederation of his continent"

"Although my knowledge is little, I want to share it with the others so that they, better than me, can discover the truth, follow up what I fall short of, and correct my mistakes. Yet I will be happy to be the starting point for the discovery of that truth."
"Albrecht Durer"

To the attention of the President of the Asian Football Confederation

Dear sir,

As an Irani-Asian man for whom the development and non-development of football in his country and continent had always been a matter of great concern and study, I, inspired by this beyond-national sense of obligation, has always been puzzled with this question that why our continent, despite having such a lot of talents, wealth, cultures, thoughts, and religions, each of which a source of inspiration for the growth and development of the Westerners both in theoretical and practical aspects, does not possess a high station in football which is indicative of the power and efficiency of nations and governments.

One of the motives prompting me to spend many years of my life studying football was, first, to find an answer to the foregoing question and, second, as an Asian, as far as I can, to be conducive to the growth and development of football in my own continent, haply, in this regard, the little knowledge of each of us Asian individuals might be of use and contribution to the growth and development of football in our continent. I am of this belief that one of the most important impediments to the growth of football in our continent is that we have not presented any precise, complete, and comprehensible definition of football, its different kinds, and the entries to football, a definition on which everybody agrees and have consensus. For the same reason, each federation, based on its own views and perspectives offers a definition of football and looks at it from the outlook of the economic system of its own country. And this self-concerned view towards football along with different personal interpretations of it is a calamity having been inflicted upon Asian football for years. One of the disadvantages of a "self-defined" football is that Asian countries, because of not having any knowledge or awareness of the "principles of true football and the stages of its growth and development" in mind, have turned to the Western countries as models for their highest goals.

If we all accept that a wrongly posed question entails a wrong answer or the obscurity and deficiency of a wrongly posed question entails fruitless efforts for its solution, we will come to the conclusion that in order to pose a right question we should first come up with a complete and clear definition of football, its different kinds, the entries to the world football, and finally two-dimensional and three-dimensional football, so that based on right posing of the question we can act accordingly to attain a high position in football.

I, inspired by philosophy and its pragmatic school as well as John Best's instructions, after years of study and research have finally managed to produce a project titled "Eastern or Productive Football", and now I offer to you that part which is concerned with Asian football (continent). There are also some other parts concerning national football (countries) that if you find my project useful I can share them with you.
I hope what I am offering you can be generative and useful for the growth and development of football in our continent and my love and concern for the success of the Asian man bear fruit.
I am looking forward to your favorable reply.

Very truly yours,
Mehdi Mirabi
Tehran, Iran
